Dr Devi Shetty uses Production system to Caridiac Operaitons ..

' In a heart operaiton.. there are some RARE skills which one doctor might develop.. But 90 % of the skills are generic.. any and most of the doctors can do ..

Here.. when the whole heart  operaiton is taken as a process, and each of the step is identified and picked up / entrusted to specific people to offer the skills  they posess.. It is mass production technique being applied to health treatment.

Conventional Physician centered treatment is transformed in to  context based treatment. Similar to mass production method .. A D Mart  system of buying is mass customized.. Every customer think that system is created exactly suiting to him / her. Same way Baffe system of food serving also .

Group Decision Making - Process

Group Decision Making - Process

Decisions regarding organisational issues are made in many ways. They are

- Individual Vs. Group

- Autocratic Vs. Participative

(  Decisions that are made in due course are implemented by the people in many ways . They are

- Individual  implementation Vs. Group implementation )

This blog focuses on Group Decision Making process.

The things this process includes:

- How GDP will / shall be done ?

- What are the important things that need to kept  in mind ?

-  What is effective group decision making process means ?

- Who are the right  members to be part  of group which makes the decisions ?

Apply group decision making process for Tower Building exercise ?

What are the decisions which the group will make ?

Who are the members of the group ?

What are the implications of I - E, I- G, and G- E decision indices for group decision making process followed in case of Tower Building exercise?

I- E must be minimum - This indice means that individual who is part of the group is expert. Lower indice reflects ones  ideas, beliefs, arguments are much closer to the expert being  the best. This otherwise means that individual whose I - E is minimum is the RIGHT person to be part of a group and lead the decision making.

But there some real uuestions that crop here:

Is that a RIGHT person ( who is expert )  can really influence the group to take RIGHT decisions ?

Is it that all experts automatically lead the groups to RIGHT decisions ?

Is it that NOT SO EXPERTS ( whose I - E is much more ..) can also guide the group to RIGHT decisions ?

All these things can be understood by looking at the next TWO indices

G - E must be minimum: It means that group has made the decision(s) which are much more similar and closer to expert. Again it will be wonderful if the group after so much of discussion and deliberations comes to such a RIGHT decision. This reflects the effective decision.

I - G  must be minimum:  This indice reflects how different and similar the individual's ideas, beliefs  to that of the group as a whole.  In case, I - G is maximum it means that individual's ideas are different from the group.  who is part of the group is expert. His / her ideas, beliefs, arguments are much closer to the expert being  the best. This otherwise means that individual whose I - E is minimum is the RIGHT person to lead the group in its decision making.

Group Decision Making – Some issues

How a novice group members vis-a- vis expert decision will be different ?

HOW ……What processes need to be put in place ?

Conscious Collaboration , Contribution, Cooperation, Participative and Productive Decisions ..

Post Maha Mandi 2015 .. Review and reflections

Maha Mandi 2015.. 8 Aug 2015//

Reflections..

1. BMC permission need to be sought for . This is in addition to police permission.

2. After inaugrual speeches Guests need to be retained at the audi...  Let the Mandi participant students are directed to come to the audi immedaitely. This needs to be done first.Guests must not be coming to flag off point ..

3.  Mandi Oath  was missing. It needs to be taken care.  A piece of Oath must be arranged. so that Oath is administered..

4. Flash Mob permission sought to be done much advance ..

5. Maha Mandi poster.. there is no e mail id.. FB id.. no contact point except mobile phone numbers.

6. Products banners must be made and displayed. so that visitors understand the products well.. Mandi Products mega size must be arranged for public display.. . Let NN make them and keep them ..

Product videos need to be made and suplied first to the students.. who are registered. let the participants see the products even before they come for mandi registration. this is important.

7. Mandi products give onlty few.. not more than 3 or 4 products. 2015 more than 6 products were given. This is wrong.

Maha Mandi reflective session by Ghosh dada..

1. Recollect the ASSUMPTIONS / OPINIONS you were holding all across the Mandi program..

I thought.. I felt .. I imagined,  etc.

2.  Recollect the FEELINGS ( Favorable, and Unfavourable ) , that surfaced in you all across the Mandi program..

3. What happen when you were involved in mandi arrangements of the said events - At personal feelings, and Energy ?

4. How who decided at the market place..

Section of action spot

Criteria of cusotmer selection
Select a few sales encounter on the basis of uniquness and exceptions if any

Recall your feelings on Rejection and Approval

What were your real gians from Maha Mandi.. Personally Collectively ?

How you are going to apply these learnings in your daily life and real situations

Issues - Assumptions - Feelings that arose  may be collected

1. Just announced...

2. Before Mandi

3. During Mandi D Day

4. In the field

With the Customers

With the Product

With the Market

With my Self

5.  Post mandi event

Some Unique experiences / experiments.

1. One IM 22 student  trying to put up a stall on the Juhu Beach.. This  one is unique experience . It was well prepared and orgchestrated by the students. Seems this is one good way of doing Mandi differently .

2. Price must be ensured to be common all across.. This must be ensured.. Otherwise, name of NITIE will be spoiled and some college students might spoil the name tooo..

Mandi framework to be used

People use assumptions in doing things.. especially for new context mandians get in to field with lots and lots of assmptions. preconceived notions, opinions of themselves, on others, about things and about the external world. This is impossible to go ahead without having such assumptions.

Such assumptions which are derived by the individuals finally tested in the field and end up finding that WRONG ( 95 % ) . but some assumptions surely also emerge RIGHT ( 5 % ) ..

----------------------

When one met with  assumptions as W R O N G..  , one will be unhappy, angry, distressed etc.

When one met with  assumptions , as R I G H T ...  one will be Happy, Pleased, etc.

--------------------------------

Mandi field work offers the platform to test your assumptioins, and provide and opportunity to FELL the  FEELINGS. More one test and realise the assumptions and feel the feelings .. success of mandi happens .

Without mandi field experience these assumptions  become garbage.. There is no scope to face the feelings. These things will be faced by  you again and again

 -------------------------

Real MBAs are those people who work / test as many assumptions of their own possible,

and have ability to face the feelings ( especially unfavorable feelings ..  !)

and revise their assumptions and manage their feelings.

------------------

Mandi also offer an opporutnity to end up with F A C T S ..  But MBA is predominated by the FACTS.. which is wrong thing . MBAs are otherwise.. heaps of feelings and assumptions.

As part of MBA learning  how to surface your assumptions / opinions and test them.. face the outcomes ( feelings )  of such testing method....

If MBAs are FACTS, then a FILES and FOLDERS  would have been uploaded in to your Human Machines ! Is that you want . In no time you will become OUTDATED  if done so !  ...BE   WARE !

--------------------

Mandi is not ONE !.

Every Mandian sees Mandi differently. Mandi  is not one.

Every body is right.  One is right and others are also equally right. There is no one right answer. there is no one right mandi.. There are millions of mandis..

How many Mandis are the in the world ?

There are as many Mandis as so many  ___ P E O P L E are there.

Rich are good buyers, and Poor are also equally good buyers.

Here can be sold  -  Here cannot be sold :

There can be sold - There cannot be sold.

Old buy - Old dont buy - Young dont buy, Young buy too.

It is fascinating to witness the Mandi.

----------

Purpose of Mandi NITIE  is not  to FACTUALISE / ANALYSE it.. . But to FEEL it. To LIVE it.

-------------------

Those who FELL it will succeed far better than those only FACTUALISE  and analyse.

NITIE Mandi purpsoe is to make each one of you to FEEL it.

-----------------

Mandi allows you to PRACTICE your SKILLS .

A text book and class room does not offer this to you. It tells you to do. but it does not offer you the opportunity.

---------------------------------

Without feeling the field.. like .. Maha Mandi 2015 it is impossible to visualize all this..

Jai ho Mandi ! .. Socho, Becho, Seekho ! .
